When God seems silent it means that the next thing He is about to say is important. There is a 400 year span between the last book of the Old Testament (often referred to as the “silent years”) where the Prophet Malachi closes out the scripture saying “Behold I will send you Elijah…” 400 years later the New Testament breaks open with the clarion cry of John the Baptist declaring “Prepare ye the way of the Lord!”When it seems like the heavens are brass and God does not hear you, consider that He may be preparing you for an important update. Consider Elijah, “After many days the word of the LORD came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, “ Go, show yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain upon the earth.” (1 Kings 18:1) and Jeremiah “After many days the LORD said to me, “Arise, go to the Euphrates and take from there the waistband which I commanded you to hide there.” (Jer 13:6)….I am not saying that the Lord does not speak often to us. I am saying that His greatest directional words in our life are often situated between an intentional period of comparative stillness.

Something is happening in the earth right now and Heaven is positioning the body of Christ. Kings are being aligned for battle. A spiritual realigning of influence is being distributed for the sake of the kingdom. Promotions long awaited and seemingly denied are being issued. Angels are very active and being sent to prepare the pathway for many a Joseph to walk out of his prison of contradiction into the appointment for which he was held. An appointment for a larger sphere in a different place than many anticipated.

And how long did Joseph wait? Remember he requested something from Pharaohs high ranking official Butler after interpreting his dream: “Make mention of me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house.” (Gen 40:14) Here it is…”Then it came to pass, at the end of TWO FULL YEARS, that Pharaoh had a dream…”

What delayed you? What confined you? You have not been wrestling with a situation you have been wrestling with the prophetic word. “Until the time that his word came to pass— the Word of the Lord tested him.” (Ps 105:19)

A Word is about to come to you…and it is important.
