Keep in mind that as we look at this prophetic picture of ourselves in the emerald rainbow, we must remember that the emphasis is ultimately on Him and His Throne! “Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him…” (Revelation 1:7) Yes, it’s ALL about Him and “EVERY EYE shall see Him…” You see, the light of the rainbow is reflected to the eye at an angle of 42 degrees to the original ray of sunlight. Because the 42 degree angle is measured from each individual observer’s eye, no two people see exactly the same rainbow. Every person is at the center of his or her own particular rainbow. Remember, the Father has set His rainbow IN THE CLOUD… perhaps YOU are the particular ‘rainbow’ that your neighbor or coworker will see Jesus in.I find it fascinating that the rainbow appears at a 42 degree angle, because the number 42 is very significant in Biblical symbolism. The number 42 is the number of the Christ, the number of His appearing in the ‘cloud’. Let’s look at this further in the book of Matthew.Matthew 1:1 speaks of “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ…” Normally we think merely of geneology when we read that verse, however the word translated as generation, ghenesis in Greek, means NATURE. Obviously, Jesus was not married with natural children, so WHO exactly IS this “generation of Jesus Christ” that carry His NATURE? Well, Hebrews 2:9 & 13 is speaking of Jesus as it says “But we are able to see Jesus… Here am I, (Jesus) I and the children whom God has given Me…” (Amplified Bible- my input in parenthesis) It is apparent that in the eyes of the Father, Jesus had ‘children’. However, Isaiah 53:8 says of Messiah, “…and who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living…”; in other words, He won’t have natural children because He dies. We must then read on to verse 10 of Isaiah 53 as it says, “He SHALL see His SEED, He shall PROLONG His days…” That particular wording, “prolong His days”, is used throughout the book of Deuteronomy to speak of carrying on a genealogy in the land.
So, once again, WHO exactly IS this “generation of Jesus Christ” that carry His NATURE and carry on His genealogy? We can read of this ‘generation’ in Matthew 1:17 when it says “…from the carrying away into Babylon unto CHRIST are fourteen generations…” Get out your calculators (fingers and toes are acceptable also) and let’s count. Abraham to David are fourteen generations. David to Jechoniah and Babylonian exile are fourteen generations. Here’s where it gets interesting. Start in verse 12 of Matthew chapter 1 and keep in mind that Jechoniah was number fourteen in the last group; Shealtiel is #1, Zerubbabel is #2, Abiud is #3, Eliakim is #4, etc… then Joseph is #12, and Jesus is #13. Yes, you counted correctly. Jesus is #13, and THE CHRIST is #14, the 42nd GENERATION.
Yes, my friend, Jesus is the HEAD, He has preeminence in all things (Colossians 1:18), and we are called the BODY of CHRIST, the 42nd GENERATION. Just as the rainbow appears at a 42 degree angle, the 42nd GENERATION is a covenantal people that carry His NATURE and carry on His genealogy! Indeed, “He SHALL see His SEED, He shall PROLONG His days!” This 42nd GENERATION is the New Creation Man spoken of in Ephesians 2:15, “…that He from the two might create IN HIMSELF one New Man – one new quality of humanity out of the two.” (Amplified Bible).

How appropriate that this ‘rainbow’, the 42nd GENERATION, we read of in Revelation chapter 4 is a rainbow of EMERALD; “…and encircling the throne there was a halo that looked like a rainbow of emerald.” (Revelation 4:3 Amplified Bible) The emerald is a deep green variety of beryl, a very translucent (see-through) stone, in comparison to the jasper which was an opaque stone. Once again, the color green is symbolic of new life, RESURRECTION LIFE, fresh green oil (fresh anointing).
There is no RED in this ‘rainbow’, it is only manifesting the GREEN of RESURRECTION LIFE! That is because Jesus, by His shed RED Blood, took the RED fiery wrath of God that was poured out at the Cross, in order that the 42nd GENERATION would manifest only the GREEN of RESURRECTION LIFE! The emerald is a very translucent stone, in other words you can see through it. This covenantal people is a transparent, translucent people… you can see through them to see the Throne of God in the MIDST of them! Remember also that this ‘rainbow’, this 42nd GENERATION is “encircling the throne.” They live from a higher dimension where ‘earth’ of the carnal earthen vessel is not ‘in the way’, thus allowing others to see the fullness of the One who is seated on the Throne.
My friend, it is time to heed the call to ‘come up higher’ than the ‘second heaven view’! It is time to ‘come up higher’ to the third heaven! It is time to enter into another realm through this “door standing open in heaven.” It is time to change our focus from sin and the church in the earth, and focus upon the Throne of God and the Glory of God. It is time we begin “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done…” (Isaiah 46:10)
“And it shall come to pass, when I bring a CLOUD over the earth, that the BOW shall be SEEN IN THE CLOUD.” (Genesis 9:13-14) Father, we stand in agreement that You are bringing Your CLOUD of witnesses, Your CLOUD of glory, to overshadow the EARTH of the carnal earthen vessel! And we stand in agreement that the RAINBOW, Your RESURRECTION LIFE, be openly SEEN and visible IN THE CLOUD, Your covenantal people!
beautiful. hard to wrap my mind around but very very beautiful! may it be so, LORD. make us your rainbow, reflecting your light. make us transparent and translucent. make us clear, holy vessels full of your Spirit and ready to pour it out on all we meet. help us to love you more and to love every person as you do! only then will every eye see you!!
